Job Description:
United Living is recruiting for a Project Engineer to join our growing Major Projects team. This is a hybrid role based at the Warrington office in the North-West of England, requiring weekly site visits. The position is a fixed-term 2-year contract.
The Project Delivery Engineer will manage the technical aspects of projects, coordinate with teams, oversee schedules, ensure quality standards, and provide technical guidance. The role supports the Project/Construction Manager in managing large gas transmission and distribution contracts nationwide. The candidate should have site engineering experience, aiming to progress to project management, and understand the commercial impacts of works, scope, and subcontract management.
Technical Lead Responsibilities:
* Ensure technical delivery of project requirements.
* Maintain and update drawing registers, and verify site work against design data.
* Conduct design reviews and manage RFIs/TQs.
* Support design and constructability reviews during project phases.
* Identify and escalate design ambiguities or changes.
* Lead procurement of technical items and manage temporary works.
* Ensure quality and defect management during and post-construction.
* Collaborate with QA/QC teams and manage as-built documentation.
* Support setting out civil works using GPS and point cloud data.
* Coordinate with project management to plan technical deliverables and attend update meetings.
* Review subcontractor works and support tender processes.
Project / Construction Management Support:
* Assist in managing projects to meet safety, time, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction targets.
* Ensure HSQ&E compliance and prepare accurate reports on project progress.
* Support project meetings and documentation, including CVRs and risk assessments.
General Requirements:
* Carry out work within project requirements and timelines.
* Manage contractual obligations and promote safety and environmental standards.
* Build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
* Select and review subcontractors regularly.
* Conduct site SHEQS inspections and adhere to safety policies.
* Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
* Travel within the UK as required and perform other duties as assigned.
Other Specific Duties:
* Coordinate with Engineering for site drawings and documentation.
* Assist with project planning, RAMs, and temporary works design.
* Maintain electronic documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum five years’ civil engineering experience.
* HNC/HND in Civil Engineering preferred.
* Experience supporting lifting operations and using surveying software.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations.
* Full UK Driving Licence required.
