About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our team in our Wrexham factory.
Reporting to the Plant Director and leading a team of Process & Development Engineers, you will be responsible for providing technical support and solutions to improve all aspects of the site's manufacturing processes, using continuous improvement and proactive methodologies to ensure that optimum material, machine efficiencies, and quality are achieved.
Responsibilities
* Leadership of the Process & Development Engineering Team, including its development, resource prioritisation, and deployment.
* Provide day-to-day support to the site's production processes, including root-cause identification and rectification of process faults.
* Regular Right First Time analysis to identify process issues and develop/implement actions to drive measurable improvement.
* Propose, evaluate, and implement improvement projects to provide cost savings in areas such as material, machine, and manpower efficiency, and “Cost of Poor Quality”.
* Departmental interface, decision maker on potential orders/new design capability.
* Specify, develop, and purchase tooling and equipment for production.
* Supervise the industrialisation of new processes, materials, and product developments.
* Commission new equipment and manufacturing processes.
* Monitor and report on relevant key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Establish and maintain technical and training documentation.
* Provide support for quality complaints, including where necessary customer interface and visits.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Proven experience in a similar Continuous Improvement/Process Improvement role, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Ideally educated to degree-level or apprentice trained in engineering or a related technical discipline; however, this is not essential.
* Experience and knowledge of improvement methods and techniques.
* Demonstrate proven analytical and problem-solving skills within a manufacturing process environment and have a hands-on approach to their work.
* Possess drive and determination to make things happen and achieve objectives without compromising standards.
* Preferred previous experience of leading a small professional team; direct supervisory/people management skills are required.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is the ability to work independently and within a team.
