Our client is a leading player in the Packaging industry. They have a strong European footprint and are now continuing to invest within their UK plant. The business has a real drive to grow profitably in the next 3 years following strong investment to the site. Our client is seeking a strong operational leader who can support with the continued operational challenges and strategic direction for the business.
The ideal candidate will have a background in packaging, ideally Flexible Packaging. You will have experience with FMCG, food with strong operational leadership experience managing manufacturing plants.
Job Responsibilities
* Full P&L responsibility for all activities of the local company, ensuring that the business delivers its operational and financial targets. The following positions report to the Business Unit Leader, while leading a team of operations, supply chain (including also customer service), finance and HR reports.
* Drives operational excellence and a sustainable culture of continuous improvement and safety. Works to improve customer experience.
* Contributes to improving the employee experience and works to strengthen the company culture. Drives and promotes good leadership practices and values-based behaviour.
* Builds high performing teams. Builds trust in the teams. Focuses on talent management and organisational development.
* Provides general oversight of all activities in the company, manages the day-to-day operations.
* Maintains strong financial discipline and control according to the group policies.
* Develops and maintains cross-functional/geographical relationships to share and exchange ideas, experience and expertise.
* Ensures legal compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
* Reports results and developments in a timely and complete manner.
* Ensures that all health, safety, quality, and environmental issues are identified and appropriately managed in line with the group policies and local rules and regulations.
Profile Required
* Master’s degree in a relevant field.
* Proven track record in managing a corresponding size organization with P&L responsibility.
* Strong operational excellence background.
* Change management and process development experience with experience of building a strong company culture.
