We are looking for a postdoctoral research associate (PDRA) to conduct research in Geometric Finite Element Methods, under the mentorship of Dr Kaibo Hu.
The Opportunity:
Multiple postdoctoral positions are funded by an ERC Starting Grant “Geometric Finite Element Methods (GeoFEM)”, which aims to develop finite element methods for discretising geometric objects. The positions will be available from January 2025. However, a later starting date will be possible.
Your skills and attributes for success:
PhD in relevant areas (mathematics and physics etc.) to be awarded before taking up the position.
An interest in developing finite element exterior calculus for discretising geometric objects with applications. Candidates with backgrounds in continuous and discrete differential geometry, numerical relativity, continuum/geometric mechanics, computer graphics or network sciences are also encouraged to apply.
Desire and/or experience in engaging with the research community.
