What you'll be doing Secure work in line with the civils strategy and budgeted margins, with a clearly defined scope and contractual compliant with Company commercial golden rules Ensure bids are reviewed and approved within Company governance arrangements Develop relationships with clients for both tenders in hand and for the long term, post completion Seek to continuously improve bid success rates from gathering internal and external feedback and monitoring as-built outcomes Ensure bid submissions and client communications are of the highest standard of presentation and clarity, are submitted on time and contain the key elements of the standard tender letter template Who we're looking for Qualifications: Degree in Civil Engineering Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of civils plant, equipment, and methods Knowledge of groundworks, working platforms, spoil removal etc., RC works for capping beams, slabs and pile caps. Be able to understand and interpret data Understanding of the use of a CRM system Be competent to a high level in Word, Excel, and internal business systems and procedures Be commercially astute Have excellent written and verbal communication skills Be able to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines Have an ability to prioritise and organise own work effectively Be driven to try to win every bid prepared Seek feedback and drive continuous improvement of successive bids Must be able to: Work consistently whilst under pressure to maintain a professional approach at all times Use own initiative to make decisions within own area of authority Communicate effectively across all levels Develop a bid strategy given numerous factors; client, design, technical solution and technique, schedule, quality, competition etc Develop strong relationships with clients on all levels but particularly with peers, estimators, supply chain, procurement etc. Attention to detail, presentation of a compelling bid document and the structured compiling of critical data from multiple sources Other Requirements: Eligible to work and live in the UK. Flexibility to travel in the UK. A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK. What you’ll get in return Competitive salary depending on experience. Hours of work are 40 per week Monday to Friday. Hours of work are typically 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday with paid breaks, however flexibility is required 25 days holiday plus bank/public holidays.
