We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full time Finance Analyst to join Southampton City Council (SCC) in the Financial Planning & Management Team.
About the team
The finance team is transforming the way it delivers financial support to the organisation. As a result, we are recruiting two Finance Analysts to our team to help us deliver this change. This is a great opportunity to enhance your finance career and work in a great team.
About the role:
The role of a Finance Analyst will:
* Support the delivery of financial services, working with a portfolio of service colleagues to help them manage their budgets.
* Work with service colleagues to prepare and monitor budgets.
* Provide detailed financial analysis that informs decision making.
* Communicate complex financial information to non-financial managers.
* Maintain the accuracy of financial information within the council’s finance system.
About you:
We are looking for a candidate with:
* AAT qualified or with an equivalent professional UK recognised finance qualification.
* Experience of working in a finance environment.
* A high standard of analytical skills with the ability to undertake a range of financial and business modelling tasks.
* Good IT literacy.
* Excellent people and teamworking skills.
