The Cambridge Estates team are seeking a Caretaker/Yard Supervisor to support the running of a major construction project, as well as supporting FM operations at the Cambridge Site. BAS are looking to add depth to the Estates team, and we are seeking a dynamic collaborative team player to support the existing team. You will provide additional support to enable the day-to-day usage and operation of the site to be carried out efficiently and effectively. To assist others within the team in carrying out repairs, or general maintenance of the site complex. The work will be wide and varied, ranging from yard supervision, simple building maintenance and other caretaking duties both internal and externally.
There will also be a requirement to support a major construction project at Cambridge by assisting with the induction of contractions and ensuring that contractors are supervised while working on the BAS Cambridge site. BAS is currently constructing a Polar Aquarium at Cambridge, which is one of only three similar temperature-controlled facilities in the world. Your input would help in the supervision of this project.
The role involves developing superb working relationships with carious members of the Estates team and wider site users. This includes internal colleagues, external partners, contractors, and consultants.
This post is not a hybrid working post due to the nature of the nature of the role and requires full-time attendance at the Cambridge site. However, flexible working arrangements can be agreed with the post line manager.
Purpose:
• Working within the BAS Estates team to undertake day-to-day site assistance in support of a major BAS UK Project.
• Working with the BAS Estates team to undertake General Caretaker and Handy Person duties across the Cambridge site.
• Assisting with repairs, general maintenance, decoration, grounds maintenance and office moves.
• General hosting, supervision and induction of contractors and visitors to ensure their safety while working on the BAS site.
