The role
SSEN are looking to hire a High Voltage Lead Electrical Construction Fitter to be based in any location in our Southern region. You'll be part of a great team that is there to help and support each other. An environment where you are encouraged to suggest improvements and where safety is our number one priority.
You will
* Be working in a team responsible for constructing electrical apparatus within substations on the electricity distribution network from 11kV up to 132kV.
* Be involved in the safe delivery of construction projects in live electricity substation environments in line with operational safety rules and safety legislation.
* Be involved in installation of fixed relays onto existing relay panels and commissioning of CT Metering apparatus.
* Act as an ambassador for Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks when interacting with external and internal customers to deliver world class customer service and protect the SSE brand.
You have
* Knowledge of the electricity distribution network and experience of working in live electricity substation environments from 11kV - 132kV.
* Previous experience including working on DC battery systems, internal panel wiring modification, multicore cable terminating and glanding, wiring circuit breakers, CT's/VT's to marshalling kiosks and control panels.
* A high regard for safety, especially on construction sites and CDM regulations with strong customer service skills.
* Previous electricity network operational authorisations would be extremely beneficial.
* A clean, full UK driving licence and a flexible approach to working hours and work location.
