Our TV Sports News and World Service Sport radio teams help make sure that every day throughout the year our audiences are served with all the stories surrounding every sport as well as providing world class coverage of the events themselves. We are looking for two Journalism Researchers in the following teams and we would love to hear from those who want to tell stories in engaging ways across both linear and digital output: • JOURNALISM RESEARCHER, Sport (RADIO) • JOURNALISM RESEARCHER (TV SPORTS NEWS) We want BBC Sport's output to reflect and understand the audiences we serve - for example, the different geographical regions of the UK and the experience of people from underrepresented groups. Main Responsibilities Generating ideas and stories and contribute to the creative treatment of an item or programme on TV Sports News/World Service Radio's sports output Carrying out in-depth background/subject research on assigned topics and stories, ensuring complete accuracy and critically evaluating the relevance and suitability of information Working closely with the production team before, during and after the output production Cutting audio and preparing scripts and briefs for audio, podcast and TV output Creating graphics for TV output Creating digital video and social media content and developing original approaches to our storytelling Identifying and booking suitable guests and contributors with an awareness and understanding of the need to include diverse contributors Developing skills needed to work in a live studio environment Working under pressure and to tight deadlines while maintaining the BBC's editorial standards At all times to carrying out duties in accordance with the BBC health and safety policy Are you the right candidate? You must have a demonstrable passion for sport but also for the stories behind the events. You must have experience of telling stories in a creative and engaging way. You must have experience of either TV or Radio production such as video editing and/or using digital recording and editing equipment. You will however need to have a demonstrable interest in and awareness of topical sports stories. You should have an awareness of our Sports News output. A good knowledge of our output on World Service Radio is desirable.
