Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am an easy going and friendly 53 year old living in the Pentre area with my two dogs. I can be reserved at first but after that I am a very outgoing person. I enjoy watching a variety of films and like to read, so I can be quiet for periods when engrossed in a book.
Due to my disabilities I can vary from day to day and my mobility can be a lot worse some days due to my muscle pain. I do use a frame around the house and a scooter when out in the community, I also have a wheelchair on order for use in and outdoors.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
I am looking for a PA to support me to access the community and to take part in social activities. The role will also consist of supporting me with day to day tasks around the home.
I am hoping having a PA to support me socially will improve my lifestyle and confidence as I am unable to do these activities without help.
HOURS OF WORK
I have 14.75 hours per week available. Majority of the hours are flexible but I would like some hours to be used every Saturday morning for Mass.
RATES OF PAY
£12.80 per hour plus 40p per mile where applicable.
TASKS CAN INCLUDE
Taking me shopping to local supermarkets
Completing daily life tasks around the home.
Taking me out socially to cafes.
Making me cups of tea at home and some food.
Either using your own vehicle for accessing community or using my adapted vehicle.
Looking for other social activities I can take part in.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Someone who is trustworthy.
A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home.
Someone happy to work with two small dogs in the home.
A reliable and punctual person.
An easy going and flexible person.
A driver with business class insurance if using own vehicle.
ABOUT THE JOB
This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
