We are looking for a founding engineer who shares our vision and ambition.
Role Overview:
As our Founding Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our journey to revolutionise music education. Collaborating closely with our CTO, you will be instrumental in building our flagship practice app and teacher portal.
We're building a revolutionary practice app for Android and iOS that offers real-time feedback on how students are playing, combined with a teacher portal to track student progress. This role is ideal for a senior engineer with experience in real-time audio processing and mobile app development, who is excited about owning the end-to-end development process. As the sole engineer for the first six months, you'll have the opportunity to shape and direct the product and its technology stack.
We are looking for a highly self-motivated engineer, who will thrive in a startup environment, and ideally has experience in taking projects from concept to market.
This position offers a truly unique opportunity for an engineer to lead and drive the development and direction of our emerging technology and, depending on future funding rounds, help grow the engineering function further.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the CTO to implement technical solutions as per strategic needs, focusing on the functional development of our practice app and teacher portal.
- Collaborate within an agile workflow, participating in fortnightly sprints, retrospectives, and daily standups to ensure the continuous improvement and timely delivery of features.
- Engage with a network of teacher/student testers (alpha-trial group) to iterate on user feedback and enhance app functionalities.
- Integrate real-time audio processing capabilities into our applications, leveraging your experience to create high-quality, responsive user experiences.
- Contribute to the code management and architectural direction using cloud-native infrastructure and tools.
- Regularly meet with board members to discuss progress and align on strategic goals.
What We are Looking For:
- Experience in full-stack development, especially in real-time audio processing.
- Demonstrable proficiency in modern app development frameworks and cloud-native platforms.
- Demonstrable proficiency in B2C app system design.
- Strong grasp of agile methodologies and effective collaboration in sprint-based project environments.
- Ability to think innovatively and act as a partner in shaping Continuo's technical future.
- Excellent communication skills, with a readiness to partake in regular meet-ups with key stakeholders.
- Experience in playing a musical instrument or a decent understanding of music-theory
Why Join Us:
- Impactful Work: Directly contribute to the future of music education, working alongside industry experts in a dynamic startup setting.
- Flexibility: Enjoy the benefits of a fully remote role, balanced with meaningful in-person interactions.
- Growth and Ownership: Benefit from a fixed-term contract with share options, owning a stake in the company's success.
- Inspiring Community: Collaborate with a diverse and passionate team of educators, entrepreneurs and music enthusiasts.
If you are an experienced engineer eager to make a difference and become a true partner in our mission, we would love to hear from you. Help us build the tools that will shape the future of music education.
