Following an internal promotion within the Clinical Pharmacy team for Critical Care, we are looking to recruit a pharmacist with hospital-based experience, who is motivated, dynamic and keen to learn and develop in this role. We currently have team members undertaking their independent prescribing certificate and specific teaching on critical care via both the UKCPA and the UCL 'Fundamentals of Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy' course. Experience in critical care isn't essential, full training will be provided including attendance at the UKCPA Critical Care Foundation Course and there could be opportunity to complete the Pharmacist Adult Critical Care pathway course delivered by the UCL School of Pharmacy, University College London" Main duties of the job You will be part of an enthusiastic pharmacy team working across 2 general intensive care units (each with 8 level 3 beds), 1 cardiology intensive care unit (12 level 3 beds), a general high dependency unit (16 level 2 beds) and a spinal high dependency unit (4 level 2 beds). Key priorities in the role will include: Attendance and participation at consultant led post-take ward rounds on the Critical Care units Providing prescribing advice and support to medical and nursing staff Teaching members of the Critical Care MDT and developing strategies and training packages to deliver best care Actively involved in service development projects within the pharmacy department and within Critical Care Supervision, education and training of rotational pharmacists, foundation trainee pharmacy students and medicines management technicians Contributing to the weekend ward-based clinical service across the critical care unit About us Leadership and Improvement Training South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills.
