Job summary We have exciting opportunities for a Registered Nurse RMN to be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team working at our older adult inpatient ward based at Thurrock Community Hospital. Gloucester Ward inpatient facility provides care to older people, over the agency of 65, suffering from mental health problems where the problems are deemed to be such that admission to hospital is the only safe option. Main duties of the job The post holder is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation and holistic assessment of patients with complex mental health nursing care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of inpatient treatment plans. The post holder will have completed preceptorship or will be required to complete their preceptorship and will work under the overall supervision of a Band 7 or 6 Supervisor However, the post holder will regularly be required to work without direct supervision and will be designated to take charge of the unit in the absence of senior staff. In addition, the post holder will be expected to have leadership skills that allow safe practice to be upheld whilst able to take charge of junior staff to undertake relevant forms of care.
