Main responsibilities
Accounts
1. Limited companies, LLPs, sole traders and partnerships, pension schemes
2. Complete planning sections in accordance with office guidelines
3. Prepare and monitor budgets
4. Prepare accounts from incomplete records or client trial balances (Sage, Xero, Quickbooks, etc)
5. Liaise directly with clients and settle queries
6. Review with supervisor and complete file including reporting pack
Audit
7. Internal and external audits
8. Planning, controls and risk assessment, setting materiality and sample sizes
9. Fieldwork testing including stock take attendance and other site verifications
10. Analytical reviews
11. Completion of audit files
Tax
12. Prepare personal tax returns
13. Prepare VAT returns
14. Prepare corporation tax computations and returns
15. Prepare P11ds
General
16. Occasional advisory work
17. Deal with correspondence from clients
18. Review work of juniors, resolve technical queries and ensure the file is complete and all review points addressed before it is passed to the manager
19. Ensure effective on the job training occurs for all semi-seniors and juniors
20. Be aware of other LG services and products which may be appropriate to your clients
Qualification and Skills
21. ACCA/ACA fully qualified would be desirable
22. Accounting and finance degree would be desirable
23. At least 18 months post membership experience
24. Good up-to-date CPE and recent developments in accounting standards
25. Experience of OMB's covering a range of industries
26. Computer packages – Excel, Word, Outlook, Sage Line 50, IIRIS, CCH, VT Transactions, Xero, Virtual cabinet, Quickbooks
