Contract: Temporary - Day Rate, 3-6 months
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Finance Officer (Contractor) to join a supportive and mission-driven team on a day-rate basis for 3-6 months. You will play a key role in maintaining financial operations during a transitional period, ensuring continuity and excellence in the charity's financial processes. Working collaboratively with a small, dynamic team, you'll bring expertise, adaptability, and a solutions-focused approach to drive financial stability.

Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping: Analyse and reconcile bank transactions, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage invoice processing, payment preparation, and the timely collection of receivables in collaboration with the Finance Assistant.
Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Payroll Administration: Act as the primary liaison with the outsourced payroll provider and work with the People and Culture team to ensure accurate payroll processing.
Compliance and Controls: Maintain and support the implementation of internal financial controls and assist with reconciliations and audits to uphold financial integrity.
Stakeholder Communication: Address queries from customers and suppliers promptly, maintaining strong working relationships.
Ad Hoc Tasks: Provide support for additional tasks or urgent priorities as required to ensure operational continuity.About You
They are looking for a contractor who is:
Qualified or Qualified by Experience: Part or fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) or significant relevant experience.
Experienced: Proven track record in delivering financial services in an interim or contractor capacity, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
Skilled: Proficient in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
Analytical and Independent: Capable of problem-solving with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
