Digital Innovation Project Officer
This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Digital Innovation Team which sits within the Digital & IT Department in NHS Lothian with a focus on delivering Robotic Process Automation (RPA) projects. As a key member of the project team, the post holder will support the mapping of processes, the development of our automations, the monitoring of those automations, and be a lead in liaising with services we are working with.
What do we mean by RPA? We will be focusing on administrative processes that are simple and repetitive. These tasks may be done by colleagues hundreds of times a day, if not thousands of times. Can we set up one of our bots to automate that task, for example, transferring info from one system to another? If we can, we can free up our colleagues currently doing that task to do something more value-adding.
This is an exciting opportunity to either start or continue your journey into RPA. Ideally, the successful candidate will have some experience of RPA, but the successful candidate will also require other skills and attributes, so training and support will be provided to help develop the right individual.
The post holder will require excellent communication and personal skills as building relationships and being able to ask relevant questions is vital to enable a full understanding of a process that we want to automate. A background of working in a digital setting, supporting the delivery of projects would be desirable.
The post is full-time, on a permanent contract. The successful candidate will have a base in our Edinburgh offices at Cannan Lane, with a requirement to go to other sites to meet with services and occasionally go into Digital’s main offices at St John’s Hospital. The post will comply with NHS Lothian’s current office/work from home policy.
