Credit Risk Manager
About the role
National Power Supplier based in Greater Manchester has engaged us to recruit a Credit Risk Manager to join the dynamic Finance department.
The Credit Risk Manager will be responsible for overseeing the credit risk assessment process, developing risk management strategies, and ensuring the company's credit policies and procedures are adhered to.
This role requires a keen understanding of credit risk principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Role
1. Conduct thorough credit risk assessments of new and existing clients, analyse financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to evaluate creditworthiness.
2. Develop and maintain credit risk models and scoring systems, develop, implement, and update credit risk policies and procedures.
3. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, monitor and report on the effectiveness of credit risk management strategies. Whilst monitor the credit risk exposure of the company’s Portfolios.
4. Identify, measure, and manage credit risk concentrations, recommend actions to mitigate credit risks and improve portfolio quality.
5. Monitor credit Insurance positions to ensure cover is kept relevant, prepare detailed reports on credit risk assessments and portfolio performance. Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to risk management.
7. Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts and risk management professionals, provide training and development to enhance the team’s skills and knowledge. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and risk awareness

8. Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
9. Proficient in financial analysis and credit risk modelling.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
13. Proficient in risk management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
14. Experience with Credit Agency Systems (Experian)

15. Educated to degree level or relevant professional qualification
16. Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk management or related field.
