Job Description
Are you a passionate English Teacher with a flair for sparking creativity and fostering critical thinking? Are you ready to make a real impact on students' academic journeys? We are currently seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Pontypool, where your dedication will inspire KS3 and KS4 students (aged 11–16) to reach their full potential.
You will have the opportunity to create engaging lessons that develop students' literacy, communication, and analytical skills, ultimately helping them succeed in their GCSEs and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver dynamic English lessons that are aligned with the national curriculum, sparking creativity and encouraging critical thinking.
* Guide students through their GCSE preparations, providing valuable feedback to support their academic growth.
* Help students build strong reading and writing skills, assessing their progress and offering constructive feedback.
* Design and assess coursework and assignments, providing tailored advice for improvement and encouraging continuous learning.
* Prepare students for their final push towards the summer exams, starting after the Easter half-term break.
What We’re Looking For:
* A passionate educator who is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of young learners.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE in Secondary English or a related field.
* Strong subject knowledge in English Literature and Language, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
* Experience working with SEN students is desirable but not essential.
* A creative and adaptable approach, capable of tailoring lessons to meet the needs of a diverse group of students.
