We are looking for a Systems Accountant to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract. Their main responsibilities will include:
Job details
Systems management
* Administration of the Business Central finance system as well as maintaining related systems such as Jet Hub and PeopleXD (Payroll).
* Support the implementation and testing of system upgrades and new functions
* Provide end-user support by addressing queries related to existing systems and ensuring that users have the necessary resources to operate efficiently
* Collaborate with cross-segmental teams and other departments to understand user requirements and configure systems accordingly to resolve issues
* Work with finance and the wider business to improve system controls and document any system changes in a standardised format
System reporting
* Build and maintain key management reports from the system using JET reporting software for Business Central, and Insight reporting in PeopleXD
* Assist the Systems Team in maintaining standardised management accounts and reports
Other system projects
* Work closely with the Systems Management Accountant and other team members to ensure smooth project execution
* Coordinate with different departments to gather necessary data and inputs for project tasks
* Participate in data migration, testing, and reporting tasks related to project phases
* Ensure accurate documentation and process notes for project activities
* Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support the successful completion of projects
Management accounts & financial reporting
* Support the Group Finance Director in the preparation of timely and accurate monthly Finance Reports
* Manage and post Group consolidation entries in the Business Central system when required
* Assist in the preparation and production of supporting schedules for the statutory accounts, as and when required in accordance with the relevant accounting principles and the current legislation
* To provide assistance to the Group Finance Director in responding to queries regarding statutory accounts
* Assist Systems Team with any other adhoc financial reporting
* Provide support and cover to the PLC management accountant including management accounts, taxation, treasury, sales and purchase ledger, energy reporting and payroll as required
* Support and provide cover to other subsidiary management accountants as required
Role attributions
* Prepare timely monthly management accounts as well as other financial reports
* Present financial reports to the senior team to aid in business decision-making
* Oversee and maintain the systems that support financial operations and accounting functions
* Evaluate existing systems/processes and devise improved solutions to streamline accounting operations
* Manage and implement upgrades to financial systems to enhance functionality and performance
* Identify and resolve issues within financial systems to maintain smooth operations
