The key tasks of the quantity surveyor that my client is looking to recruit for are listed below.
Responsibilities:
1. Procurement of sub-contractors
2. Prepare tender documents
3. Evaluate tender returns and provide recommendations to Contracts Director/Commercial Manager
4. Prepare and send sub-contract order documents to appointed contractor
5. Ensure receipt of all relevant documents from sub-contractor before their works commence on site
6. Sub-contractor payments
7. Check/agree interim valuation, request invoice, and issue along with payment certificate to Commercial Manager/Contracts Director/Accounts
8. Provide payment forecast to Commercial Manager/Contracts Director/Accounts
9. Check and confirm any variations
10. Issue instruction for additional works where necessary
11. Interim Valuations & Final Accounts
12. Check and agree monthly valuations against contract sum
13. Agreed valuation should cover actual spend on project
14. Agree Final Accounts with Employer
15. Design team/consultant meetings
16. Attend meetings to keep up to date with design progress
17. Carry out market research/cost analysis for design proposals where required
18. Action any relevant points raised in meetings
19. Site queries
20. Assist site team/sub-contractors with technical queries
21. Contact relevant consultant/designer if required
22. Sub-contractor progress meetings
23. Monitor along with project manager/site team contractor progress against contract programme
24. Assist in ensuring that the contractor is working in line with issued contract
25. Assist in resolving any issues raised
26. Site procurement meetings
27. Action relevant issues raised in meetings
28. Raise any procurement issues that the site team needs to be made aware of
29. Assist in resolving any issues raised
