Due to our continued work winning success, we currently have a new opportunity for an experienced Project Director to be based in Borehamwood/ Iver/ Slough for a new power networks project. We are looking for a leading Project Director experienced within power and energy, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing large-scale power generation and infrastructure projects from inception to completion. You will provide strategic direction, leadership, and management oversight to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Duties and Responsibilities Project Leadership and Strategy: Provide strategic direction and leadership for power generation and infrastructure projects, aligning project objectives with organizational goals and priorities. Develop and implement project strategies, plans, and initiatives to ensure successful project delivery and achievement of project objectives. Lead project teams and stakeholders in the development of project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines. Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, regulatory authorities, government agencies, and community groups. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and engagement throughout the project lifecycle. Address stakeholder concerns, inquiries, and feedback in a timely and professional manner, fostering positive relationships and support for project initiatives. Project Planning and Execution: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of power generation and infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and budgets. Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, taking proactive measures to mitigate risks and resolve issues in a timely manner. Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders. Contract Management and Procurement: Oversee the negotiation, administration, and management of contracts with clients, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Manage procurement activities, including sourcing, evaluation, and selection of vendors and suppliers. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Implement quality management processes and procedures to ensure that project deliverables meet the required quality standards and specifications. Conduct regular inspections, audits, and quality checks to monitor project performance and compliance with regulatory requirements. Document project activities, deviations, and corrective actions to support project documentation and reporting requirements. Financial Management and Budgeting: Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial resources, ensuring effective cost control and budget management throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor project expenditures, track financial performance, and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and analysis to senior management and stakeholders. Skills and Experience Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related field. A master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., Chartered Engineer) is desirable. Extensive experience in the power industry, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale power generation and infrastructure projects. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and inspire multidisciplinary project teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively manage complex projects and resolve issues. Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the power industry. Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is desirable. Chartered Engineer status or membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., Institution of Engineering and Technology, Institution of Mechanical Engineers) would be advantageous.
