About the Role: As a SEND Specialist Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, tailored education to students with a range of special educational needs. You will work closely with a dedicated team of teaching assistants, SENCOs, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to students with a range of learning difficulties, including moderate and severe learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and other special needs. Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each student. Provide one-to-one support and small group teaching to ensure all students have access to the curriculum. Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to create and implement individual education plans (IEPs). Support and mentor teaching assistants, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to provide high-quality support to students. Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages student independence and growth. Candidate Specification: To be considered for this exciting role, you must meet the following criteria: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential. Experience working with students with special educational needs, ideally within a secondary school setting. Knowledge of a wide range of SEND strategies, including communication strategies, behavior management techniques, and differentiated learning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of professionals, parents, and students. A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching. Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing classroom dynamics.
