We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified childcare practitioner Level 3 or above to work as part of the team here at Strawberry Fields Nursery and Preschool under the direction of the New-Nursery Manager.
We work to provide a high quality developmental continuous, secure play environment for 0 -5 year old children. The setting is open from 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours over 5 days. The applicant must hold a relevant childcare qualification at Level 3 or above and complete an enhanced DBS check.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To set up the setting for the day’s activities and to clear away at the end of the sessions considering health and safety of yourself and others at all times.
2. To implement the daily plans with a caring and positive manner whilst working as part of a team.
3. To show initiative and to advise the Manager of any concerns regarding parents, children, other members of staff or safety of equipment.
4. To assist in the preparation and serving of the children’s meals and carry out any necessary kitchen or cleaning duties.
5. To attend staff meetings and training courses as required.
6. To keep completely confidential any information received regarding a child, their families or other staff.
7. To complete child assessments and other relevant forms.
8. To carry out such other duties as may be required from time to time commensurate with the post holder's skills and qualifications.
9. To interact with the public responsibly and welcome all users of the facilities, promoting a positive image of the facility by the provision of high quality customer service.
10. To check the safety of equipment in areas of responsibility and report any damage or malfunction of equipment to the Manager/Senior Manager immediately after discovery.
11. To assist in the preparation and operation of events and activities, including the assembly and dismantling of equipment and minor repairs when required.
12. To ensure that a consistently high level of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained throughout the setting at all times.
13. To assist in the opening and closing of the setting when required and assist in monitoring the security of the premises at all times.
14. To comply with Health & Safety procedures at all times. To report any matter of concern with the Manager immediately.
15. To report any maintenance issues using the appropriate procedures.
16. To assist the manager with any tasks involved in the operation of the setting.
17. To undertake suggested training requirements appropriate to role and personal development.
18. To attend relevant training courses as required to maintain the ability to carry out the duties of the role effectively.
19. To attend staff meetings as required.
20. To comply with the Emergency procedure for the setting and assist with any such incidents in the appropriate manner.
21. To have a flexible approach and be willing to carry out further functions and roles as required by the management team.
22. To evidence an understanding of the needs of confidentiality.
23. To actively promote equality and diversity.
