Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a leading, established & well-known Manufacturing Group to recruit a driven & dynamic Finance Business Partner/Accountant for their Cheltenham, Gloucestershire site. A permanent opportunity reporting directly to the Financial Controller where you will primarily be the main finance business partner for your designated part of the business, providing commercial finance support, cost centre reporting, assistance with process improvement/implementation, along with related projects/analysis. Suited to a newly qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA Accountant, but open to finalists or part-qualified studiers who have key business partnering skills.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve business partnering with operational teams, providing support for cost centre analysis, working closely with sales teams to understand projected expenditure & developing mitigation plans for any over-spending. You will participate in monthly review meetings, be the lead finance support and work closely with marketing teams to understand commercial sales forecasts, along with valuing/owning dashboards, ensuring prices are kept up to date. You will be the lead finance support on business cases, working cross-functionally to ensure return on investment & identify risk, driving continuous improvement to processes and support forecasting processes. You will be accountable for variance analysis, understanding product performance, budget/forecast meetings, posting accruals/prepayments, along with reviewing/reconciling balance sheet accounts. You will be involved in ad-hoc projects/duties to support business growth.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this progressive Finance Business Partner role, you will have experience in a similar position, ideally qualified/finalist CIMA/ACCA/ACA or part-qualified, studying towards full-qualification. Strong communication skills to build relationships and partner internally with operational/non-financial management, strong MS Excel skills to analyse large data sets, along with being able to balance technical capability with commercial support. Key analytical skills, strong attention to detail and being used to prioritising workloads to meet deadlines. You will be a team player who can use their own initiative to problem-solve, along with suggesting improvements to processes/systems. Experience within the manufacturing sector, with knowledge of SAP or BPC would be advantageous but not essential.
