Candidates must possess the necessary right to work authorisation to enable them to work for Chesterfield Borough Council. Regrettably, we are unable to provide sponsorship or assume sponsorship of an employment visa at this juncture.
Chesterfield is a bustling borough with big ambition and endless opportunities to capture and create great digital content. From our £1bn economic growth programme which boasts nationally significant regeneration schemes, to our popular cultural and leisure venues, your days will be varied and busy when you join our communications and marketing team.
We’re looking for a creative assistant digital communications officer with a fantastic eye, and skill for the creation of engaging content to join our enthusiastic team. The role will play a key part in the delivery of our external and internal communication strategies in support of more than 50 council services.
The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of our social media channels, with support from the wider team using your flair to devise innovative and engaging content, tailored to different platforms. Ideally you will have videography experience and skills, and be able to capture and create great photos and visuals for use online.
You will have excellent writing and customer service skills and have experience of using social media scheduling software. You will also play a supporting role in looking after our staff intranet, supporting website content, reviewing analytics, and campaign development. Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate with people at all levels of the organisation are essential.
If you are full of ideas, work well in a fast-paced environment and would like to be part of an enthusiastic and talented team, we want to hear from you.
