Recruitment agency are proud to be considered a sole recruitment partner to a well-established independent producer of natural animal feed and bedding, as they recruit a Warehouse Operative to join their business. Spanning nearly 40 years', our client's business produces and supplies natural feed and bedding to the small pet trade, most of which are sourced within the heart of the local countryside. They are a forward-thinking business, and their product range is self-sustainable and produced in an ecologically aware culture (utilising solar energy power, and bio-wrapping resources to reduce plastic waste). Much of the natural waste from production is reintroduced into the process to make additional product lines. As a Warehouse Operative, your responsibilities will be diverse and will incorporate: Working in a mechanised production area, you will assist in the production of products originating from natural sustainable materials. Packaging products at the end of the line and manually packing products onto pallets. Using the wrapping machine to prepare pallets for distribution. Loading machines and hoppers by hand and with a forklift (training will be given). Loading and unloading lorries and moving pallets around the warehouse (using a forklift once trained). Previous experience of using a Counterbalance and/or Tele-handler forklift trucks would be advantageous but not essential as training will be given. This is very much a hands on and physical role, handling a maximum weight for raw products of 20kg. Applicants do not necessarily need previous warehousing experience, however you should be happy to turn your hand to any manual tasks within this small team and family feel environment. Working within a small team; common sense and a strong work ethic are required as is a can do attitude and a desire to muck in and support everyone in the team. Working hours are 8AM - 5.30 PM - Monday to Thursday, with one paid 1/2 hour break and another 1/2 un paid break (a 36-hour working week). Does your experience include the use of hand-tools? Then this opportunity can include 3.5 hours every Friday (making the role 39.5 hours per week) to service and maintain the on-site equipment and machinery.
