DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Our client is a highly technical welding and CNC company that specializes in the aerospace and automotive industries, holding the AS9100 and NADCAP accreditation.
Trading since 1998 and with over 25 employees, this company operates a bespoke, unique operation that offers services and solutions with precision engineering excellence.
Due to a successful year, they have a unique opportunity for a Development Engineer with a welding background to join their busy team.
JOB PURPOSE
You will oversee and manage the development of electron beam welding projects to ensure optimal quality and efficiency. Full training will be given.
Providing guidance, training, and support as needed (once trained).
Collaborate with customers' design and engineering teams to develop innovative electron beam welding solutions.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
Monitor and maintain equipment, identifying areas for improvement or repair.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
JOB REQUIREMENT
1. Basic knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment (not essential).
2. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
3. Strong engineering background.
4. Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
5. Familiarity with industry health and safety standards.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
1. An engineering qualification.
2. Welding background.
3. Customer-facing experience.
4. Quotation/Estimation/Sales experience would be ideal.
SALARY / BENEFITS
£40k salary + benefits.
39 hour contract.
Monday - Thursday 7-4.
Friday finish 12.30pm.
25.5 days plus bank holidays.
