RECRUITING NOW FOR A SOFTWARE/CONTROLS ENGINEER - BRADFORD BASED.
We are looking for a Software / Controls Engineer to work in our well-established bespoke machinery building client in Shipley. You will be working through the entire project life cycle from communicating with the customer and advising on automation solutions, all the way through to designing, building, and commissioning on site.

Roles & Responsibilities
* UK wide commissioning role.
* Based in Bradford
* Specify, design, program and maintain control systems including PLCs, Robots, HMIs, networks, and drives.
* Predominantly working with Omron Sysmac and Omron Robotics.
* Upgrading existing systems with new automation solutions.
* Involvement or leading in designing electrical projects to a customer specification.
* Involvement or leading in writing PLC and Robot code to a customer software specification.
* Carry out installation and commissioning of new, bespoke automation solutions.
* Sourcing and specifying of appropriate components.
* Reporting to the Senior Controls Engineer.
Required Skills and Experience
* Formal engineering qualifications, HNC or above required. Degree level qualifications ideal.
* A strong background in electrical work, with a good understanding of Mechanical systems.
* Use of servo motion in PLC programs is required.
* Robotics programming experience is desirable, preferably on ABB, Fanuc and Staubli.
* Programming experience with Allen Bradley or Siemens is advantageous.
* Experience and Ability to program in PLC structured text.
