Your responsibilities
will include:
Supporting the ward manager with general administration and providing clerical and typing duties as required
1. Maintaining and updating filing and record-keeping systems
2. Updating of information (primary nurse lists, ward posters etc.)
3. General upkeep and organisation of nurses office and ward managers office
4. Providing administration support to the department as and when required, which could include minuting of meetings, project support admin and other duties.
5. Assist the Ward Manager in the management of the ward’s budget, ensuring good accounting practice within the activity budget books.
6. Assist in data collection and preparation for any quality assurance audit programmes that are to be run.
7. Act as a link between the public, outside professionals and other hospital departments and wards in respect of routine telephone calls and general enquiries. Making diary entries, room bookings and transport bookings as required.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
8. Previous experience within a similar role and/or environment.
9. Knowledge of healthcare terminology
10. Previous experience of typing up medical reports and patient discharge letters
11. GCSE English, C or above.
12. Good verbal and written communication
13. Able to handle information of a highly sensitive and confidential manner
