We are seeking a highly motivated Manager to support the Life Sciences Key Account Manager to work as part of the national and regional Research Delivery Network (RDN). You will need experience in working within the NHS and preferably have experience of working with the life science industry, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with a number of Life Sciences companies and with organisations across the region.
As Industry Manager in the South East Regional Research Delivery Network (SE RRDN), you will work as part of a National Research Delivery Network (RDN) team to develop and manage relationships with Life Sciences companies, Pharmaceutical companies (Pharma), Clinical Research Organisations (CROs), Medical Technology companies (Med Tech), Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and the NIHR wider stakeholders within the clinical research environment, including non-commercial funders and other parts of the research ecosystem to attract and grow clinical research delivery in the UK.
Main duties of the job
You will work closely in supporting the SE RRDN Life Science Key Account Manager to engage and support strategic relationships with life science companies and regional health and care delivery organisations to explore opportunities to grow their portfolios.
This will include supporting strategic development of commercial research delivery capacity and capability at an organisational and regional level to provide new and additional capacity for commercial research.
This role will include substantial regional travel.
As the SE RRDN Industry Manager you will be working across multiple specialities, with a range of health and care professionals across the health and care system. We are looking for someone with health and care experience and the ability to understand commercial trial delivery opportunities and challenges to support the development of capacity and capability for growth. There will be opportunities to work regionally and nationally as part of a single RDN delivering standardised services. You will need a passion for research and have experience in engaging with senior clinicians and managers.
The role can be based in one of the following SE RRDN offices - Surrey, Kent or Sussex, with frequent regional travel to organisations and regional meetings.

We are seeking a candidate with:
* Proven experience in health and care research
* Exceptional communication and collaboration skills and the ability to engage effectively with senior clinicians and managers
* Excellent people skills and ability to work collaboratively across a wide range of organisations
Qualifications
* Project Management qualification and or equivalent relevant experience
* Post graduate qualification (eg. Post Graduate Diploma) in a relevant subject or equivalent level of experience
Knowledge and Experience
* Ability to engage effectively with clinicians and senior managers
* Experience of working in the health and care research sector, the health and social care service sector, academic environment or industry experience
* Demonstration of strategic thinking and strategy development
* Demonstrate leadership and management skills and experience
* Experience of managing a customer-focused service
* Research management and administration including governance, sponsorship, costing, contracts, finance and clinical trial agreements
* Experience at project management, with a good understanding of the complexities involved
