We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Totnes. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a student, providing tailored support to help them reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one support for a student with additional needs, ensuring their learning and emotional well-being are prioritised. Assist the class teacher in implementing individual learning plans and adapting resources to meet the student's needs. Promote a positive and nurturing environment that encourages engagement and independence. Build a strong, trusting relationship with the student, fostering confidence and motivation. Monitor and report on the student’s progress to teachers and other relevant staff. Requirements: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in a one-to-one capacity, is highly desirable. Yet not essential. An understanding of additional needs, such as SEND, and how to provide effective support. Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic nature. A flexible, proactive approach and the ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families. Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, are advantageous but not essential. What We Offer: Competitive hourly rate of £14.45 - £15.20, dependent on experience.
