The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality psychiatric care within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping patient care and contributing to the ongoing success of our services.
Role Responsibilities
As a Consultant Psychiatrist at Priory Hospital Dorking, you will:
1. Be responsible for 18 patients within the acute service line. Currently, the ward is male only; however, it has the potential to switch to a mixed acute ward.
2. Take clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, CPA reviews, liaison with family/carers, liaison with community teams/stakeholders, and planning the patient's discharge from an early stage.
3. Provide expert psychiatric assessments and treatment for a diverse patient population.
4. Have oversight and input into the assessment of referrals, seeking ways to support the admission of patients in need of inpatient support.
5. Review care and treatment to ensure it is high quality and evidence-based.
6. Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, therapists, and nursing staff.
7. Contribute to management meetings and clinical governance for the service and contribute to the development of service strategy.
8. Participate in the on-call rota across Priory Hospitals Dorking, Burgess Hill, and Ticehurst.
9. Foster relationships with external stakeholders and maintain a network of professional contacts.
10. Ensure compliance with all relevant clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
11. Maintain CPD and re-validation requirements, as determined by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, GMC, or other relevant statutory bodies.
