Description We are currently looking for a Warehouse Operative to join us here at thyssenkrupp Materials UK for permanent nights As a Warehouse Operative, you will be picking material from the racks for customer orders or to supply poli-coaters, guillotines, etc. You may operate or assist in operating some of these machines once trained. You may also be required to load or unload vehicles and scan away to a rack location while adhering to quality and safety procedures. Working on a rotating shift basis, you will ensure a positive handover for the following shift to exceed customer demands. Our Preston site specialises in Aerospace specific products and CNC machining, having the most impressive warehouse of all our sites. As an aerospace site, all our products need to be accurate and traceable back to us to ensure safety and accountability, so your organisational and attention to detail skills are imperative. There are lots of different areas in the warehouse for you to grow into and learn about, all with brand new resources such as machines and fork lifts. The canteen has just had a £30k refurb too Shift Pattern Monday-Friday alternating shifts Week 1 - 6am - 2pm Week 2 - 2pm - 10pm Key Responsibilities Operating the Plate Saw Machines as directed. Working from drawings, you will be required to accurately set the machines and produce parts to order. Loading and unloading lorries. Preparing customers' orders. Racking, stacking and identification of incoming stock. Checking of incoming and outgoing deliveries for quality and quantity. Driving forklift trucks when authorised to gather material for the jobs and record all information on job sheets. Ensuring we have warehouse traceability. Use appropriate measuring equipment. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Your profile Essential experience, skills and knowledge: Valid Forklift Truck Licence. Good organisational skills. Reliability and dependability. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Self-motivated. Flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks. Team player. IT competent for use of scanning system. Desirable experience, skills and knowledge: Training can be provided for the right applicant. Counterbalance forklift trained, ideally 4 way.
