We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Site Engineer to join our team and lead the technical operations for our high-value construction building projects, up to £80 million in value. As a Senior Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of these large-scale projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will oversee site activities, coordinate with various stakeholders, and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage all on-site operations for large-scale construction building projects (up to £80 million in value).
* Lead and supervise site engineers and construction teams to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
* Develop and implement detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets; monitor progress and adjust as necessary to meet deadlines.
* Review and ensure all work is carried out according to project specifications, engineering standards, and quality control procedures.
* Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
* Collaborate with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve issues and deliver successful project outcomes.
* Maintain clear and accurate site records, including reports, daily logs, drawings, and any variations.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess progress, quality, and safety.
* Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing training and support to help develop their skills and capabilities.
* Manage relationships with subcontractors, ensuring that their work is on schedule and meets the specified standards.
* Identify potential risks on-site and develop effective solutions to mitigate them.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in site engineering within large-scale construction projects.
* Proven track record in delivering building projects up to £80 million in value.
* In-depth knowledge of construction processes, engineering techniques, and relevant building codes.
* Expertise in construction project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, or similar).
* Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide others.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all stakeholders.
* Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various sites as required.
* Chartered Engineer status (e.g., ICE, CIHT, or equivalent).
* Strong understanding of cost management, budgeting, and financial oversight for large-scale projects.
* Experience in managing complex, multi-phase projects.
