Financial Bookkeeper
Base Salary: £30,000 + Benefits
Location: Fully remote within the UK
Our client is a leading travel company specializing in expedition-based bespoke cruises within the polar regions.
Due to continued growth, they are now recruiting for a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage financial transactions and records for their cruise tourism operations.
The ideal candidate must have financial experience gained in the tourism or hospitality industry with knowledge of accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for the tourism and hospitality industry.
This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with industry regulations, and efficient management of day-to-day financial tasks.
Financial Bookkeeper Duties and Responsibilities include:
1. Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in all financial entries.
2. Record and reconcile daily cash inflows and outflows from cruise operations in the bank accounts.
3. Process invoices, payments, and refunds, including customer deposits and cancellations.
4. Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
5. Post monthly deferred income and deferred costs journals.
6. Reconcile all bank accounts and credit card statements.
Financial Bookkeeper Experience Required:
1. Previous finance experience gained within the travel or hospitality industry
2. Ability to multi-task and good organizational skills
3. Experience dealing with a variety of bank accounts
4. Good interpersonal skills are key to maintain good relationships and lines of communication with supplier accounts departments.
Financial Bookkeeper Salary and Benefits:
1. Base Salary up to £30,000 depending on experience (negotiable)
2. 23 days annual leave
3. Pension
4. Fully remote within the UK
