The Role
Fortem Solutions are recruiting for an Assistant Site Manager for our brand new Cambridge Housing Society contract, based in Cambridge. The Site Manager will work on a full-time basis and will lead the site teams and subcontractors in undertaking the required tasks and will be accountable for the management and planning of sub-contract labour, supporting the delivery of the new contract.
The Client
Our contract with Cambridge Housing Society is brand new and launching on April 1st. This will be a long term partnership with houses covering the whole of Cambridgeshire, from Wisbech down to Haverhill, although primarily situated in central Cambridge. There are nearly 3,000 properties, mostly houses and flats, and we will be looking after their Repairs, Voids, Cyclical Works and Planned workstreams.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
1. Review any certification to ensure that works comply with appropriate standards.
2. Ensure inspections are properly recorded on the appropriate prescribed forms of certification and reporting.
3. Ensure that works instructions issued to trades or subcontractors are clear, unambiguous and represent a full and fair days’ workload, at all times seeking to maximise productivity.
4. Lead a team of supply chain partners to solve problems associated with carrying out their works.
5. Enforce H&S procedures and policies.
6. Carry out Ad Hoc safety inspections on supply chain partners.
7. Carry out WIPs on directly employed trades people.
8. Carry out Quality Inspections on all works.
9. Ensure PAT testing of office equipment and plant is current.
10. Organise work activity and prioritisation for the team.
11. Accident Recording.
What You Will Need
Essential Criteria:
* Experience of managing construction projects at Assistant Site Manager level
* Problem solving skills, analytical capability
* Ability to work well under pressure
* IT skills including the Microsoft Office package
* CSCS Card
* Full UK driving licence and the flexibility to undertake regular travel
Desirable:
* Experience in social housing repairs and maintenance
* Understanding of job costing
* SMSTS
