A glimpse into the Marketing Assistant Year in Industry role
Our 1-year Marketing Placement in industry gives you the practical skills and experiences you need to put theory into practice before embarking on a rewarding career. You will earn while you learn, and work on a variety of marketing projects, exercising real responsibility alongside industry professionals.
You will be working directly with our Head of Marketing & BD, Kathy Innes. Having completed a Marketing MSc (Distinction) from Birkbeck Uni in 2018, Kathy appreciates the importance of gaining real-life experience as well as theoretical knowledge – and there is plenty of opportunity to get involved here!
There are many facets to marketing – from creative writing to video creation, digital campaigns to website SEO & Google analytics, market research to brand management and more. The advantage of working within our SME is that we will strive to give you exposure to a range of different areas. Depending on your interests and skills, we will tailor the role to fulfil both our business needs as well as enhancing your degree. The learning you have already gained in your degree, such as accountancy, business and technology will all always be relevant.
We want to make your experience with us as practical as possible and introduce you to many of the key tools of the trade, such as: HubSpot (CRM for BD and Marketing), Mailchimp (internal newsletter), Adobe creative suite (InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop), SEMrush & Ubersuggest (SEO tools), WordPress (website CMS), Google Analytics 4, Hootsuite (social media channel planner) etc.
