Job summary The WSH have an opportunity within the Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT) for a band 7 outreach nurse. The successful applicant will work within the service and assess our acutely ill or deteriorating patients based on wards or departments and assist with their management plan and appropriate level of care, either avoiding admission to critical care or assisting with escalation to a higher level of care if necessary. Main duties of the job Our outreach team consist of band 6 and 7 nurses from a variety of acute backgrounds including intensive care/ ED acute wards etc. We are a 24/7 service led by the head of deteriorating patient services. The successful applicant will be expected to carry out clinical and managerial responsibilities in order to ensure the effective running of the CCOT team. Education for staff within the wider organisation is a key aspect of the CCOT role. In addition, leading on quality improvement projects using patient safety initiatives forms part of the CCOT service and the successful applicants job role.
