As a result of our increasing projects and client portfolio, we are looking for a talented Graduate Engineer to join our growing team based in the Aberdeen area. The role will be permanent following the successful completion of a 3-month probation period.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Astrimar is a growing engineering consultancy providing industry-leading engineering, design, analysis, reliability and technology qualification services throughout the whole project life cycle. Our client base consists of operators & equipment manufacturers in the oil & gas, utility and offshore renewable sectors, and increasingly innovators developing new energy transition technologies.
Working with senior engineers and consultants, the Graduate Engineer will:
* Deliver engineering tasks including engineering design and analysis of innovative equipment for offshore energy, marine renewables, energy transition and utility sectors.
* Collate model details, input data and results into client reports.
* Support analysis of test and performance data for technology qualification and reliability improvement.
Skills Profile
* Ability to use 3-D CAD software.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills, including understanding of, and ability to use Finite Element Analysis software.
* A proactive and creative approach to tasks and excellent engineering problem solving skills.
* Proficient use of MS Office.
* Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team with good interpersonal skills.
* Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
* Experience of ANSYS Finite Element Analysis software and 3-D CAD Inventor.
* Experience of MathCad, MS Project, Power Bi and Power Query.
* Familiarity with Python, VBA or MATLAB.
* Awareness of reliability techniques (e.g. FMECA, FTA, ETA, RAM analysis).
Qualifications
* First or upper second-class honors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Ability to travel to client sites and our other offices both in the UK and overseas.
* MEng/MSc in relevant engineering discipline.
