Fixed term for 1 year ending 31.8.2025 Term-time only (39 weeks) To start as soon as possible The Bulwell Academy is an 11-18 academy serving families in and around the Bulwell area of Nottingham. We are part of the family of schools that make up the Creative Education Trust and are on an exciting journey to raise standards and ensure we do all that is needed to help the young people we serve succeed; they deserve an exemplary education, and were committed to delivering it. Here at The Bulwell Academy, we expect the best for and of every student and this is made possible through our knowledge-rich curriculum offer, CET Knowledge Connected Programme, our clear and concise Behaviour for Learning Policy and Attitude to Learning Rewards Programme and our excellent extra-curricular provision. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the development of our new Therapeutic Reintegration Centre, 'The Bridge'. The centre aims to support some of the most vulnerable students in the Academy with a focus on academia and therapeutic support. The centre will use current research in Trauma Informed and Relational Practice to help to re-focus, motivate, and ultimately reintegrate students back into mainstream lessons. We are seeking to appoint a Behaviour Support Officer to work under the guidance and direction of the Therapeutic Reintegration Manager to support continued improvements in behaviour across the Academy through the provision of academic, behavioural, and therapeutic support in the Academys Reintegration Centre and across the wider Academy. The post holders will support improvements in attendance and engagement and the reduction of suspensions and permanent exclusions of key vulnerable students. They will assist students with behavioural needs to modify their behaviour to re-integrate into mainstream classrooms without adversely affecting the behaviour and progress of other students. The successful candidates will be required to develop their own practice using behavioural and therapeutic research and will be expected to demonstrate that they are passionate about making a difference to the lives of the students in the Academy. They will have experience of working in a student facing role, ideally within the education sector. They will work well under pressure with an ability to diffuse potentially contentious situations and to form positive and trusting relationships with students in order to raise student achievement. As an employee of the Creative Education Trust, you will benefit from a highly competitive career package which includes: High quality professional development.
