Join ClimeFi as a CDR Analyst!
Why Carbon Dioxide Removal Matters?
To avert catastrophic climate change and align with the 1.5°C target, large-scale Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) is essential. Leading organisations like the UN IPCC and IEA highlight the need for billions of tonnes of CDR annually by 2050. Scaling this sector requires CDR buyers to identify high-quality, durable future projects that are likely to deliver to these targets. At ClimeFi, we're at the forefront of this mission.
ClimeFi’s Role in CDR:
As one of the top 15 global buyers of CDR, ClimeFi empowers corporations to navigate the complex CDR market. Our platform offers comprehensive services across CDR Intelligence, procurement, and Portfolio Management, collaborating with industry pioneers like Adyen, LEGO, and BCG to drive sustainable progress.
Our Vision and Values:
ClimeFi strives to accelerate the world's transition to net zero by removing billions of tons of carbon by 2050. We are driven by a strong sense of purpose, which guides our everyday actions. We value integrity above all, teamwork, and embrace a transformative mindset.
Your mission and responsibilities:
We're seeking a top-tier Carbon Removal Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will:
1. Conduct in-depth analyses on engineered CDR projects (e.g. biochar, bio-energy, direct air capture, enhanced weathering, marine CDR).
2. Complete project ratings, assessing key factors such as carbon integrity, environmental and social impacts, delivery likelihood, scalability, and economic viability.
3. Enhance our ratings database and analytical models to refine our assessment capabilities.
4. Track the progress of CDR projects over time, continuously updating our risk assessments to reflect evolving conditions and emerging insights.
5. Build strong cross-functional relationships with teams across ClimeFi, including Portfolio Management and Product.
6. Represent ClimeFi at industry conferences, events, and webinars, staying at the forefront of CDR innovation.

4. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in consistently producing well-researched analysis.
5. Willingness to learn and implement AI models.
6. Passion for fast-paced environments, and looking for a high level of responsibility and independence.

Candidates will have:
1. An academic background in earth sciences, natural sciences, engineering or economics (preferably at a Masters or PhD level).
2. A research background and strong analytical skills.
3. Previous experience in CDR is a strong plus, as well as an understanding of GHG emissions reductions and removals standards.
4. Ability and willingness to travel occasionally (~once per quarter).
5. Fluency in English is required; any other language is a plus.
Benefits:
1. Salary: A competitive annual salary and stock option plan commensurate with professional experience.
