TPF Recruitment is partnering with a Top 15 accountancy firm in London to recruit an experienced Private Client Senior Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Private Client Tax team, where you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality tax advisory services and overseeing a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and business owners.
The role will involve leading discussions with clients, managing a team of junior staff, and driving the delivery of tax advisory work. Strong technical expertise and the ability to communicate complex tax concepts in an accessible way are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management & Advisory
Managing a portfolio of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, and business owners.
Leading the delivery of personal tax advisory services, including writing reports and providing strategic advice.
Acting as the main point of contact for clients and professional advisors.
Handling complex tax planning and compliance matters, including capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and non-UK domiciled clients.
Advising on business incorporations, trusts, estate planning, and property ownership structures.
Engaging with HMRC on behalf of clients, handling enquiries and negotiations.
Leadership & Team Management
Overseeing and mentoring junior team members, providing technical training and soft skills development.
Monitoring team performance against targets and ensuring timely project completion.
Conducting staff appraisals, providing constructive feedback, and supporting career progression.
Identifying opportunities to improve internal processes and efficiencies.
Business Development & Growth
Supporting partners and directors in winning new business and expanding the client portfolio.
Leading discussions with prospective and existing clients, pitching advisory services, and presenting tax solutions.
Developing strong internal and external networks to identify new opportunities.
Contributing to firm-wide initiatives and cross-department collaboration.
Practice Management
Taking responsibility for WIP management and billing.
Ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Providing strategic input on improving team efficiency and profitability.
Requirements
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
CTA-qualified (or equivalent professional qualification) with extensive experience in private client tax.
Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation, including personal tax anti-avoidance measures.
Experience advising high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and non-UK domiciled clients.
Expertise in self-assessment tax returns, inheritance tax planning, capital gains tax, and trust taxation.
Strong client relationship skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and accessible way.
Proven experience in report writing, tax planning, and transactional advisory work.
Previous supervisory and management experience, including training and mentoring junior staff.
Commercially aware, with the ability to identify business development opportunities.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
