We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Security and Resilience Business Lead to guide the development and implementation of robust security and resilience strategies. This is a pivotal role, ensuring that our organisation not only complies with regulatory and statutory requirements, but also sets the benchmark for excellence across critical national infrastructure.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a high-profile organisation, as you lead key initiatives in partnership with both internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be accountable for shaping and embedding a security-conscious culture, delivering long-term security and resilience goals, and managing a dedicated team across a range of disciplines.
Do you have extensive experience managing risks and/or physical security, along with excellent stakeholder management skills?
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As Security and Resilience Business Lead, you will lead the development and implementation of effective strategies, supported by robust policies, plans and procedures. You will drive consistency across the organisation, establishing governance to ensure these are followed.
You will ensure our critical national infrastructure remains compliant with all statutory and regulatory security requirements, while providing assurance on risk and delivery of business plans.
Engaging with key internal and external stakeholders – including Defra, DWI, Local Resilience Forums, Government bodies and NPSA – you will represent the organisation at both tactical and strategic levels, supporting national initiatives.
You will lead assurance programmes, manage internal and external audits, and provide insight into current security trends. You will also oversee security investigations, ensuring compliance with legal and data protection standards.
Finally, you will offer expert advice and assurance on physical and electronic security, supporting colleagues and projects across the organisation.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
To succeed, you’ll have strong leadership experience in business continuity, risk and resilience, and in-depth knowledge of physical and electronic security systems. You’ll be confident managing stakeholders, interpreting risk, and delivering practical solutions.
Qualifications
Essential:
* Degree in Security, Risk, or Emergency Planning
* SC-level security clearance (or willing to obtain)
* Strong background in protective security, stakeholder engagement and security frameworks
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
* Experience in water industry security and SEMD
* Knowledge of NPSA, LPCB 1175, CAST
* Security qualifications (e.g. CISSP, PSP, CISM)
* Membership of recognised professional bodies
