Sussex Teachers is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a child in Year 4 at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hove for 2 terms starting January 2025. Key Responsibilities
1. Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child in Year 4 with specific learning needs.
2. Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
3. Assist with the child’s academic, emotional, and social development to help them thrive.
4. Support classroom activities and ensure the child remains engaged in their learning.
5. Adapt your approach to meet the child’s individual needs and create a positive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
1. Previous experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting.
2. Understanding of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and effective strategies for supporting individual learning needs.
3. A patient, nurturing, and empathetic approach to helping children overcome barriers to learning.
4. Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teachers and support staff.
