Co-op Academy Southfield (11-19 special school) is looking for a skilled Safeguarding, Behaviour and Welfare Practitioner to join us in the Autumn Term as Pastoral Welfare Leader S02 SCP 26-28 (37 hours per week, Term Time plus INSET days).
Pastoral Welfare Leaders act as deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads for the school.
They work under the guidance of senior staff within an agreed system of supervision, responding flexibly to the needs of pupils and their families. When pupils are regulated, Pastoral Welfare Leaders support Pastoral Intervention Mentors to develop and deliver preventative and early intervention strategies to improve pupil behaviour, welfare, and attendance.
This includes working with and making appropriate referrals to specialist services and agencies. At times of crisis, Pastoral Welfare Leaders collaborate with Pastoral Intervention Mentors in supporting pupils to regulate their behaviour through effective strategies, including TeamTeach.
