This program aims to recruit Light Vehicle Technicians and convert them to Heavy Vehicle Technicians. Possible recruits can be from car, plant, bike or other related backgrounds providing they have experience working in the industry.

Volvo Trucks are now offering a unique opportunity at our Ayr Depot with a competitive hourly rate along with opportunities to increase your salary with overtime and quarterly bonus.
Once finished the program, you will be awarded by the IMI with a Level 3 Technical Certificate in HGV Maintenance & Repair.
As a Light Vehicle Technician converting to a HGV Technician, you will be joining our Service & Workshop team at our Volvo Truck and Bus Centre, ensuring repairs are carried out according to Volvo's Standards. Here at Volvo Trucks, we believe we are at the forefront of Electromobility, so you will also be working on a range of systems that include alternative fuels such as LNG, hybrid, and full electric vehicles.
Don’t worry if you don’t have experience with these alternative systems. When joining, you will be provided with a training path, starting with an induction at the depot to foundation events which will take you through all systems you will be using, as well as a number of courses both online and in-person to develop your skills and support you in your new role.
Who are you?

* City and Guilds / A Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles is recommended; however, Level 2 or similar qualification will be considered.
* Light Vehicle experience - ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience on cars, vans, plants, or motorbikes.
* Attitude and willingness to work in the Truck Industry as well as relevant experience working on vehicles.
