An exciting Band 3 opportunity has opened up to join the Ear Nose and Throat Team in the Outpatient department.
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate individual, who can deliver high quality patient care within our ENT Team.
We are a small hard-working team who pride ourselves on developing our service and our staff in order for them to feel valued for their contributions to the team.
Main duties of the job
1. To assist and work as part of a team to ensure that all safety checks have been completed and that clinics rooms are stocked and cleaned prior to clinics starting and throughout the day.
2. To be able to check mediviewer and request appropriate investigations based on clinicians documentation.
3. To assist and support patients in a variety of clinics including general ENT, Head and Neck Oncology and Nurse Led.
4. To assist Drs with procedures in clinics e.g. Micro-suction, cautery, nasendoscopies.
5. Setting up & assisting with Tracheostomy, Laryngectomy changes.
6. Setting up & assisting with Fine needle aspirations, Tru-Cut Biopsies.
7. Ensure all appropriate paperwork, e outcomes are completed during and following consultations.

Person Specification
Experience
* At least 6 months of care experience working in a health or social care setting.
Knowledge and Awareness
* Confidentiality understanding of Information Governance.
* Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety.
* Knowledge of clinical patient observations.
* Willingness to undertake competencies supported by clinical skills training and education to gain theoretical underpinning knowledge in a range of clinical interventions and use of test equipment e.g. blood glucose monitors, venepuncture, cannulation etc.
* Knowledge and understanding of current healthcare issues.

Qualifications
* Care Certificate.
* Completion of a clinical skills competency-based workbook or equivalent relevant experience to vocational qualification level 3, or willingness to undertake.
* GCSE Maths & English or qualified to equivalent Functional skills level 2 in Maths & English, or willingness to undertake.
