TEXO Recruitment are on the lookout for a Cost Controller to join the Engineering & Fabrication team in Aberdeen on a permanent basis. Purpose of the Role: The role of the Cost Controller is to support and coordinate projects commercially within the TEXO Engineering & Fabrication Business unit, using analytical problem solving and decision-making skills, whilst delivering project information to the Management Team. The role involves monitoring, managing, and reporting project progress and performance commercially using both manual and project cost database SICON. The reporting cycle, of which you will play an integral role, is essential for the planning and resourcing of projects. To ensure profitability, this requires regular analysis of all reportable cost centres to allow effective project management. Area(s) of Responsibility: You will be working as part of TEXO Engineering and Fabrication Department and will work closely with the Divisions’ Management, Supply Chain and Finance teams. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to: Assisting the Lead Cost Engineer in analysing project costs Managing time and duties accordingly Weekly preparation and maintenance of cost reports and analytical reports Input into the monthly reports indicating overrun risks and performance analysis Analysing cost report data, while reporting figures to the relevant project managers & clients SICON (new project cost database)– input data, including budgets of each scope and management of project status Weekly invoice review with the TEXO Engineering Management team for cashflow purposes Reporting monthly WIP figures to the TEXO Finance and Management teams Preparing sales invoices with corresponding back-up for approval by the PM Managing Timesheets – ensuring all timesheets are entered correctly Relationships: To build relationships with the Project Coordinator, Lead Cost Engineer, Engineering and Fabrication team members Qualifications and Experience: A Degree or Qualification in relevant field is required Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with cost control software Experience with SICON / Sage system desirable but not essential Experience as a Jnr Cost Controller / Cost Controller within either the engineering, fabrication and construction sectors preferred Cost analysis experience
