An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Directorate Support Assistant in the Acute Child Health department at QEQM Hospital, Margate, Kent.
The DSA is integral to the smooth running of the wards and we are looking for an exceptional individual for this high profile, patient focussed role to provide support for our doctors. Main duties of the job
* Coordination of administrative and clerical services across a wide range of activities for the Operational Manager, Service Manager and Site leads for Acute Child Health services.
* Support the Operational Manager in the management of the doctors rotas, coordination of annual leave & study leave.
* Support in the recruitment of doctors and organise locum doctors where appropriate.
* Plan, prepare and organise junior doctor inductions.

Skills & Experience
* Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines and use own initiative.
* Ability to implement policies and procedures for own team and propose changes.
* Excellent analytical skills.
* Ability to motivate staff and achieve optimum performance.
* Previous experience of managing staff or working towards this, to include work allocation, identifying training requirements and performance managing.
* Knowledge of managing and implementing medical staffing rotas, including CRS.
* Knowledge of junior doctor recruitment, rotas and training requirements.
Governance
* Upholds and models the Trust Values.
* Is aware of Trust Data Protection.
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level with A-C grades in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
* Computer literate including Word and Excel.
* Relevant management qualification or equivalent level of experience.

* The post holder will have access to confidential information that must not be divulged to any other unauthorised person at any time. This is in compliance with the Trust Data Protection Act.
