Position: We have an exciting opportunity to join our sales team as a Business Development Manager. The role is to generate and qualify new opportunities, secure new orders and to 'on-board new customers', delivering sales growth throughout the IWS Group range products and services. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate to further enhance their Sales & Marketing career, working as part of a strong nationwide sales team focused on delivering business growth and offering future career progression. The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying sales leads, sourcing new opportunities and potential clients, whilst also maintaining current customer relationships. The role requires somebody with the aptitude to convert active enquiries into trading customers, as well as nurture prospective leads. This role will involve visiting Nationwide customers to build new key relationships to generate orders through the quotation and sales process. The Business Development Manager will work alongside other members of the Business Development and Sales team. Capabilities in problem solving, effective communication, influencing, and negotiation are key to this role and will allow those customer/working relationships to grow. Known Challenges Developing an understanding of the company and the industry in which it operates, and the challenges that it faces from internal and external factors relating to sales opportunities. Fluctuating and short lead times for customer responses and quotations. Success Management Weekly/monthly reporting on leads/sales growth and opportunities, to include, customer visits, calls and quotation volumes. Build and maintain effective customer working relationships. Meet and or exceed customer’s expectations on delivery of information/quotations. Maintenance of auditable documentation trails through the CRM system. Engagement with Business Development and Sales team to ensure timely completion of quotations and responses to customers. Demonstration of continuous improvement. Requirements: Education Essential: Good standard of general education backed by a track record of continuing professional development. AutoCAD, or equivalent. Desirable: Knowledge of Storage Equipment Industry. Skills, Knowledge & Experience Able to prioritise, develop work schedule, and influence others to achieve results. Exemplary communication and customer engagement skills. Collaborate effectively with others to ensure business improvements and efficiencies. Knowledge and understanding of products and construction basics within the industry. A proven track record of generating leads and conversion rates. Experience of working in a sales or business development team. Knowledge of warehouse and logistics product flow. Experience in utilising a CRM system. Aptitudes/Attributes Capable of working to challenging deadlines and managing multiple tasks efficiently. Initiative-taking, hands-on, can-do attitude. Able to work independently and autonomously when required. A result orientated problem solver. Diligence, tenacious, persistent, and balanced. Able to articulate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Establish and maintain effective working relationships, using communication skills.
